A girl sits in the corner
She weeps as she waits
For the morning to come
She sees a sliver of light
Coming from the open window curtain
She hopes it's the morning sun.
She wishes her friends could see
Beyond the happiness she shows
She wishes they could see
The tears and pain
That she doesn't show any of them
But they don't see--
They don't care and they know
Nothing
About her life
Or about what she wants
Or about her feelings
Because no one cares
Why doesn't she understand that?
